Dr. Tara is a proud sixth-generation New Orleanian. At 16 years old, she decided to become a therapist to figure herself out and help others.

Dr. Tara practiced as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in all types of practice for over thirty years and as an award-winning college professor for eight. She earned an MSW at Boston College and a Ph.D. at the University at Texas-Austin. She is also an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).

What Is Important:

Here are the values that guide my business and life:

1. Curiosity: We live in an amazing world and I want to know all about it.

2. Growth: I seek challenges to be the highest version of myself.

3. Courage: Curiosity and growth sometimes create scary situations. The commitment to courage keeps me moving forward.

4. Integrity: Do the right thing even when no one is looking.

5. Social Justice: Social justice is a calling of my life. I commit to more than DEI lip service. I will do the inner and outer work, even when the journey is hard.

6. Play: Play, fun and humor are the sweeteners of life. They are also the best ways to learn and heal.
